RED ORANGE EXTRACT®
All natural health benefits from blood orange
Red orange extract is obtained from three varieties of sicilian blood oranges: Tarocco, Moro and Sanguinello. These orange varieties grow in Italy, in particular in the eastern part of Sicily, where the pedoclimatic conditions and the presence of the volcano Etna , makes it particularly suitable for their cultivation.

Description
Botanical name: Citrus limon Osbeck
Origin: Italy, Sicily
Appearance: yellow powder
VERDELLIMON is an extract derived from the Sicilian Verdello lemon, a fruit with a smooth green skin and an intense aroma, produced by the summer flowering of the plant. The production of Verdelli lemons is typical of a limited area of eastern Sicily on the slopes of the Etna volcano. The agronomic technique used to induce this flowering is called "forcing": the plants are subjected to water stress during the summer and, when irrigation is resumed, a new flowering is generated from which, the following year, the Verdelli lemons.
This variety stands out from the common yellow lemon not only for its organoleptic properties, such as a juicy pulp with a sweeter flavor, but also for a higher content of bioactive compounds with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antiviral and anti-tumor activity.

BIOACTIVITY
The main active biomolecules of Verdello lemon are flavanones (eriocitrin, hesperidin, narirutin), hydroxycinnamic acids (ferulic, coumaric, synapic), flavones (diosmetina 6,8-di-C-glucoside) and flavonol glycosides (rutin). These biocompounds, acting in a synergyc way with the vitamin C, are responsible for the nutritional properties and health benefits of Verdello lemon.
SCIENTIFIC PAPERS ON VERDELLIMON
Scientific research studies carried out on VERDELLIMON have demonstrated its possible therapeutic use for the prevention of inflammation associated with diabetes. Furthermore, thanks to the reduction of adipogenic differentiation of pre-adipocytes, VERDELLIMON is able to act both as a natural anti obesogenic product and as scavenger of free radicals within the organism.

Scientific article: "In vitro effects of bioflavonoids rich lemon extract on pre-adipocyte differentiation"
In this work, the ability of VERDELLIMON® to inhibit the radical DPPH was studied, using different concentrations of the extract (from 0.11 to 3.4 mg / ml)
The results show that the high concentrations of flavonoids contained in VERDELLIMON significantly inhibit the radical DPPH, demonstrating a strong activity against free radicals.
The in vitro results show the anti-obesogenic effect of VERDELLIMON® through a reduction of the adipogenic differentiation of the pre-adipocytes. Furthermore, the presence of verdello lemon extract during the differentiation process leads to a decrease in triglycerides, stored in differentiated adipocytes and the consequent reduction of fat.

Scientific article: "Bioactive Compounds from Lemon (Citrus limon) Extract Overcome TNF-Induced Insulin Resistance in Cultured Adipocytes"
In this study, VERDELLIMON® positively influenced the metabolism of adipocytes, increasing the levels of the nuclear PPAR receptor, restoring the physiological functions of adipocytes and protecting 3T3-L1 cells from TNF-induced lipolysis.
The results obtained, supported by those already present in the literature, suggest that these natural compounds represent a valid alternative to conventional treatments.
VERDELLIMON® can be used as a therapeutic approach to prevent inflammation associated with diabetes, leading to an insufficient capacity of the adipose tissue to expand.
